Dr. M. Ellen Mitchell awarded Presidential Citation by APA
Dr. M. Ellen Mitchell, Ph.D., Interim Dean of the Lewis College of Human Sciences at IIT, has been awarded a Presidential Citation by the American Psychological Association for her leadership in mental health, groundbreaking scholarship and career-long service to the profession.
The citation reads in part, “Dr. Mitchell launched a new college of psychology, humanities and social sciences and has overseen operations for the Center of Ethics in the Professions, Disability Resource Center, IIT Leadership Academy, and Kedge Program. … She models ‘service with a smile’ and champions strong organizational governance and citizenship.â€
The citation was presented at the Association’s annual meeting of the Council of Graduate Departments of Psychology, which took place in Savannah, GA, February 28 - March 2, 2014.
